UN Study Tour To Geneva

CUUNA launches its grand hallmark event of this academic year – our first ever UN study tour to Geneva. Join us on this truly unique opportunity to learn about the UN at the UN from UN employees and experts as they deliver a host of exciting, specially themed talks about the functions, controversies and very latest projects at and of each of the diverse range of institutions to be visited. To name but a few, they include:

  • Palais des Nations
  • United Nations Conference on Trade & Development (UNCTAD)
  • International Labour Organisation (ILO)
  • International Committee of the Red Cross
  • World Health Organisation (WHO)
  • World Trade Organisation (WTO)
  • United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)

The tour will be officially co-organised by the World Federation of United Nations Association (WFUNA), who, by its nature and location in Geneva, have the access and network that enables us to ensure participants truly penetrate the very core, both literally and metaphorically, of each of the institutions, seeing and understanding ideas and operations that the ‘common’ tourist will simply not have the chance to! Moreover, WFUNA’s kind involvement means that, whilst we don’t have the exact price yet, the cost will be largely limited to flights and accommodation!

Possible dates are as follows:

a) Saturday, 2nd – Tuesday, 5th December 2006

b) Monday, 4th – Thursday, 7th December 2006

c) Sunday, 14th – Wednesday, 17th January 2007

We would like to get a good idea of which period best suits everyone interested to finalise the best programme for participants, so please email our General Secretary, Grace Yip at secretary@cuuna.org ASAP, but latest, if you’re keen, by Thursday, 2nd November, with your preference. We do very much hope you hop on board what will no doubt be a wonderful learning experience! We look forward to hearing from you.
