The 8th Annual Conference of the Geneva International Model United Nations (GIMUN) is from March 3rd to 9th 2007!
The GIMUN Annual Conference is a bilingual (English and French) model of the United Nations conferences at a high academic level (for students and recent graduates from university or other institutes of higher education).
It is organized by students of the Graduate Institute of International Studies (HEI, Geneva) and other universities and takes place in the «Palais des Nations», the United Nations Office at Geneva, Switzerland.
After a successful 2006 edition of GIMUN that simulated a reformed UN, the Annual Conference 2007 will continue being “one step ahead”. Participants thus have the option to become delegates in the extended Security Council (24 member states) or in the new Council on Human Rights, which has replaced the Commission on Human Rights. A further innovation is the International Court of Justice, which in 2007 will be simulated for the first time in the history of the GIMUN.
