An exciting opportunity may be arising this year for a UNYSA member to travel to Ghana to help teach trainee Ghanaian teachers about the UN. UNA Ghana have contacted UNA-UK to ask if they will be willing to assist them with this project and funding options are currently being investigated.
The UNYSA member and Mark Rusling (Campaigns & Education Officer, UNA-UK) will travel to Ghana in August for 2-4 weeks. Some time will be spent teaching about the UN, and about how to run a model UN. The trainee teachers will then participate in their own model UN. Hopefully, UNA-UK will cover the cost of the flights, while food and accommodation in Ghana will be covered by UNA Ghana.
If you think that you would be interested in this opportunity, please let Mark know now. This wouldn’t be binding as, at the moment, it is not certain that the project will go ahead. If there is significant interest, a suitable selection procedure will be arranged to determine the best candidate. If you are active in UNYSA, with a keen understanding about the UN and experience of model UNs, then do please consider putting your name forward.
Do email or ring Mark if you have any questions. Contact details are listed below.
