What impact has the UN made since it came into existence in 1945?
Is the global water crisis simply a result of scarcity?
Should I consider a career in the UN?

CUUNA cordially invites you to join us at our Inaugural Speaker Event hosting Prof Sir Richard Jolly, former Assistant Secretary General of the UN and former UNA-UK Chair. With his vast experience and expertise, he will share his insights on the UN and the impact it has made, with further discussion on the global water crisis.

Access to water is a basic human need and a fundamental human right without which everything else fades into insignificance. The roots of the crisis in water can be traced to poverty, inequality and unequal power relationships, as well as flawed water management policies that exacerbate scarcity. From the effects of climate change to the economics of water pricing and the politics of water management, the global water crisis is a pressing concern relevant to every individual.
