CUUNA Newsletter Week 4 (4 Nov 2013)

CUUNA Careers Event
Date: 5:15pm Mon 18 Nov 2013

Venue: Lady Margaret Hall, Sidgwick Site

CUUNA will be holding a careers event with John Ericson from UN Secretariat and Lauren Canning from UNDP.

John and Lauren talking informally about their careers, followed by a Q&A session. This will be a closed event, giving CUUNA members a chance to interact with UN officials in a much more intimate environment than university-wide careers talks.

We anticipate this opportunity to be hotly in demand and as a result we wish to give priority to PAYING MEMBERS of the society. As a result, for the coming week paying members will be able to sign up by emailing Owain at ojr27@cam.ac.uk. We will open the sign up to other members of the society at a later date. If you would like to become a paying member and gain priority on events such as these, please email Owain at the above address.

Campaign Corner

Act Now, Save Later is a new campaign from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) that urges developed nations to boost funding for disaster preparedness in order to reduce the devastating economic impact that natural disasters can have. You can watch their great animated video to learn more or play their disaster simulation game.
