CU United Nations Association: International Day for Tolerance Campaign

Care for a more tolerant world? A world of full of diversity, where people will not be discriminated against for things that make them human beings of their own? If so, come and join us for an afternoon of stimulating and interactive activities to support the cause of tolerance in our society!

Date: Friday 14th November
Time: 4.00pm - 6.00pm
Venue: Lecture Theatre, Trinity Hall

The International Day for Tolerance is an annual observance declared by UNESCO in 1995 to generate public awareness of the dangers of intolerance. Declaration of Principles on Tolerance, adopted by member states of UNESCO, affirms that tolerance is neither indulgence nor indifference. It is respect and appreciation of the rich variety of our world’s cultures, our forms of expression and ways of being human.

The CUUNA campaign will consist of several parts, the aim and objective being raising awareness of tolerance and diversity in society through a variety of thought-provoking activities. There will be a short presentation on tolerance, photo exhibition, film clip, skit, quiz with prize, as well as other interactive activities such as games and discussions to keep everyone engaged. Food and drinks will also be provided. Entry is free, and there is no need to book - please come and support the cause! We are looking forward to seeing you there.

Jenny Zhao (jz292)
Campaigns Officer
Cambridge University United Nations Association

If you are interested to run for the committee, please contact the relevant people - information can be found on the committee page.
