CUUNA

On behalf of the CUUNA Committee, welcome to the Cambridge University United Nations Association!

The United Nations is one of the most influential – and contested – institutions in modern international affairs. Its successes are often overlooked, its failures closely scrutinised, and its future the subject of constant debate. Whatever one's view, understanding the UN means engaging with some of the defining political questions of our time.

That is what CUUNA seeks to do. We bring together students from across the university to debate global issues, engage with diplomats and practitioners, and examine international cooperation with both curiosity and critical thought. Through our debates, speaker events, and institutional visits, we aim to foster informed discussion grounded in substance rather than slogans.

As President, I am committed to building on that mission by expanding CUUNA's reach within Cambridge and strengthening its engagement beyond it. A particular priority this year is the continued growth of CUIMUN, our annual Model United Nations conference, which brings together organisers, chairs, and delegates from universities across the world.
